About The Nightingale Project
Nightingale was initiated in 2024 as part of the CurAIHeart project at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. Since 2025, the project has been formally operated by Innovation in Medicine GbR, a company registered in Mainz. Today, Nightingale follows a hybrid working model, combining distributed online collaboration with on-site activities at Nikolaus-Otto-Straße 6, 55129 Mainz, Germany.
The Nightingale Heart Project aims to harness artificial intelligence to support better health outcomes for individuals and society. Our approach is built around “Detect – Teach – Motivate”—covering early risk detection, health education, and personalized health coaching. By combining AI, language models, and gamification, we develop digital services that complement existing healthcare systems and help alleviate resource constraints.
Finally, we are proud to rely heavily on the efforts of ambitious students and provide an opportunity for young learners. Whether through internships or theses, many have gotten a taste of their worklife and a push forward in their career through their efforts. You are invited to browse and please test the demo services for an idea of what we created.
